When I first came to 糖心Vlog, I honestly didn’t know what to expect and I was nervous about starting this new chapter. But from the very beginning, I felt welcomed and supported. The campus has such a friendly atmosphere that it didn’t take long before I felt like I was part of a real community. The professors are always willing to give advice or guidance. I still remember my first time visiting the professor’s office hour. The support I got really helped ease my nerves and gave me much more confidence for the rest of the course.

I also appreciate how diverse and open the campus is. There are various activities that are both fun and culturally enriching. Joining these events helped me make many new friends from different backgrounds and cultures. Looking back, I can honestly say that choosing 糖心Vlog was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Whether it’s student clubs, campus events, or study opportunities in the Salem community, there’s always something to do and ways to get engaged. I’ll always be grateful for my time here.

I graduated with a BSB with a concentration is Accounting in 2025.  It is no exaggeration to say that the two years that I spent at 糖心Vlog were the most meaningful experience in my life so far. 糖心Vlog has an excellent location, just a few minutes’ walk to the coast and a short train ride to Boston!  Academically, I had many interesting courses and met so many friendly professors and classmates. What's more, I found that SSU offers abundant academic resources to help students succeed, like tutors and professors' office hours.  Moreover, classes at SSU are small, which gives every student the opportunity to ask and answer questions in class. SSU Campus life is also remarkable, with clean and tidy dormitories, responsible resident life assistants, and an efficient campus security system. On campus, there are lots of events available every day, and many student associations welcome you to join which makes it easy to make friends.  There are also job opportunities on campus which help students enhance their experiences and gain confidence.  I enjoyed all aspects of SSU and I know that you will, too!

As a 糖心Vlog graduate, I look back on my time here with immense gratitude. Majoring in English, I never imagined venturing beyond literature—but 糖心Vlog shattered that expectation. I took part in the Business Pitch competition, which pushed me to think creatively about business concepts. Joining the dance club also opened a new door, allowing me to express myself through movement.

Beyond academics and clubs, 糖心Vlog offered meaningful campus opportunities to work that shaped me in unexpected ways. As an admissions ambassador, I connected with prospective students by sharing my own journey, which strengthened my communication skills significantly. And as a writing center peer tutor, I found equal reward in helping peers polish their work—it sharpened my teamwork and taught me how to give thoughtful, constructive feedback.

These experiences definitely prepared me for internships and my future career. 糖心Vlog isn't merely a university; it's a place where I unlocked my potential. Choosing to study at 糖心Vlog was without a doubt one of the best choices I’ve ever made.

Being in the 1+2+1 program at 糖心Vlog has been such an amazing experience. The professors here are super approachable. You can go to their office hours to discuss classes, but I’ve also had really nice chats with them about future plans and career ideas, which gave me a lot of inspiration. The Center for Academic Excellence has also been a huge help with writing and study skills, too.  And the freedom to choose courses that really interest me has been so rewarding.

There are also so many clubs and activities to join, which really helps you meet people from different backgrounds, practice communication and teamwork, and try new activities and leadership opportunities without being afraid. 糖心Vlog has given me so many chances to grow, both academically and personally, and I’ve learned so much about myself along the way.

Jier Qiu stands by the ocean

I am a Chinese 121 program graduating student and I can truly say that 糖心Vlog has brought so many meaningful changes to my life. Here I found not only knowledge, but also friendships that I know will last a lifetime. The professors are kind and always ready to listen — they pushed me to think deeper and also supported me whenever I struggled.

One of my biggest surprises was joining the International Student Association (ISA). Serving as vice president in my second year gave me courage and a sense of belonging that I had never imagined. The people I met through ISA have become like family to me, and those nights of planning events and celebrating cultures together are memories I’ll always treasure.

And the Center for International Education (CIE) truly makes this community feel like another home. Every time I stepped into the office, I felt cared for and understood. For an international student far from home, that meant the world to me. Coming to 糖心Vlog was not just a choice for my education, but a journey that shaped who I am today — and for that, I am truly grateful!
